Our technology uniquely enables economic clean hydrogen from off-gases, driving efficiencies and value creation into existing assets. Biogas conversion to clean hydrogen is a near-term market for our technology, particularly where hydrogen demand is growing, as it is in South Korea, particularly in Korea\u2019s well established hydrogen mobility ecosystem. We took a significant step forward in our entry both to Korea and to biogas conversion with our new partnership with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hwenc.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hanwha Corporation E&amp;C Division<\/a>. Together, we are exploring the deployment of our\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.utilityglobal.com\/products-h2gen-systems?hsLang=en\" rel=\"noopener\">proprietary H2Gen<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>\u00a0system<\/a>\u00a0at wastewater treatment plants across South Korea.<\/p>\n<p>But this partnership is more than just a business deal, it\u2019s a signal to the energy and mobility industries that we are now entering a new era of scalability, cost-efficiency, and sustainability in clean hydrogen.<\/p>\n<h4>Taking Clean Hydrogen from Concept to Reality<\/h4>\n<p>For years, clean hydrogen has been a part of the conversation around decarbonization, but it has often been stalled at the stage of &amp; what could be\u201d, with the cost of clean hydrogen production often the limiting issue. Today, with the backing of forward-thinking partner Hanwha Corporation E&amp;C Division, we\u2019re moving beyond theoretical concepts and putting clean hydrogen into action. Our H2Gen technology, which uses biogas from wastewater treatment facilities as a feedstock to produce hydrogen, is the key to making this possible.<\/p>\n<p>South Korea\u2019s hydrogen mobility market is an ideal platform for this transformation. By the end of 2024, more than\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.yna.co.kr\/view\/AEN20250122001200320\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">38,000 hydrogen vehicles<sup>1<\/sup><\/a>\u00a0were already on the road, with targets aiming for 300,000 by 2030, including\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/research.csiro.au\/hyresource\/policy\/international\/republic-of-korea-south-korea\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">20,000 buses and 30,000 trucks<sup>2<\/sup><\/a>\u00a0. In the short-term, legislation is driving rapid growth, with municipal bus fleets expected to expand to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hydrogeninsight.com\/transport\/south-korea-signs-deal-with-samsung-hyundai-and-others-to-put-2-000-hydrogen-commuter-buses-on-its-roads-by-2026\/2-1-1445858?zephr_sso_ott=e2XP3A\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2,000 hydrogen buses by the end of 2026<sup>3<\/sup><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Pre-FEED study we are embarking on with Hanwha Corporation E&amp;C Division will provide the critical technical and economic data needed to move from concept to scalable, commercially viable clean hydrogen production. This is not just a small step forward\u2014it\u2019s a giant leap in making hydrogen more affordable and accessible.<\/p>\n<h4>What This Means for the Industry<\/h4>\n<p>This partnership is a turning point for the hydrogen industry. For clean hydrogen to truly scale and compete with traditional energy sources, it needs to be cost-effective, accessible, and sustainable. That\u2019s exactly what our collaboration with Hanwha Corporation E&amp;C Division represents. By integrating biogas from wastewater treatment plants into our H2Gen hydrogen production process, we\u2019re leveraging existing infrastructure in a way that makes both environmental and economic sense.<\/p>\n<p>This collaboration also opens new avenues for how other industries and municipalities can approach clean energy. By transforming wastewater into valuable hydrogen, we\u2019re demonstrating that circular energy solution\u2014where waste is repurposed for clean power\u2014can provide the foundation for a truly sustainable hydrogen economy.<\/p>\n<h4>The Road Ahead: Building a Sustainable, Scalable Model<\/h4>\n<p>Hydrogen has the potential to be a cornerstone of the global clean energy transition. But it must be produced in a way that is both economically viable and scalable across the globe. What we are doing with Hanwha Corporation E&amp;C Division in South Korea isn\u2019t just about one project; it\u2019s about proving that clean hydrogen can be produced sustainably at scale, leveraging existing infrastructure and cost-effective feedstocks.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re proud to be at the forefront of this transformation.
