This project marks Utility\u2019s first commercial-scale steel deployment,\u00a0using blast furnace gas to:<\/p><ul data-start=\"1239\" data-end=\"1417\"><li data-start=\"1239\" data-end=\"1283\"><p data-start=\"1241\" data-end=\"1283\">Produce clean hydrogen directly on-site.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"1284\" data-end=\"1334\"><p data-start=\"1286\" data-end=\"1334\">Concentrate CO\u2082 for lower-cost carbon capture.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"1335\" data-end=\"1417\"><p data-start=\"1337\" data-end=\"1417\">Enable ArcelorMittal to decarbonize without increasing steel production costs.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><p data-start=\"1419\" data-end=\"1591\">\u201cThis is a critical first commercial project for us,\u201d Parker said. \u201cIt proves our technology works inside a real steel plant, with a major global partner ready to scale.\u201d<\/p><hr data-start=\"1593\" data-end=\"1596\" \/><h2 data-start=\"1598\" data-end=\"1620\">Why Steel Matters<\/h2><p data-start=\"1622\" data-end=\"1770\">Steel accounts for eight percent of global CO2 emissions,\u00a0and more than 70% of production relies on blast furnaces. Parker explained why hydrogen is key:<\/p><ul data-start=\"1772\" data-end=\"2191\"><li data-start=\"1772\" data-end=\"1915\"><p data-start=\"1774\" data-end=\"1915\"><strong data-start=\"1774\" data-end=\"1789\">Integration<\/strong>: Unlike many alternatives, Utility Global\u2019s H2Gen technology can integrate directly into existing blast furnace operations.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"1916\" data-end=\"2038\"><p data-start=\"1918\" data-end=\"2038\"><strong data-start=\"1918\" data-end=\"1932\">Resilience<\/strong>: The system handles fluctuations in blast furnace gas supply \u2014 turning down and back up within minutes.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"2039\" data-end=\"2191\"><p data-start=\"2041\" data-end=\"2191\"><strong data-start=\"2041\" data-end=\"2055\">Efficiency<\/strong>: It offers up to five times greater capital efficiency than traditional \u201cgreen steel\u201d concepts, while reducing CO\u2082 capture costs.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><p data-start=\"2193\" data-end=\"2383\">\u201cOur approach is fundamentally different. We\u2019re not asking the industry to build new facilities from scratch \u2014 we\u2019re showing how they can decarbonize existing assets at scale,\u201d Parker noted.<\/p><hr data-start=\"2385\" data-end=\"2388\" \/><h2 data-start=\"2390\" data-end=\"2425\">Global Expansion Opportunities<\/h2><p data-start=\"2427\" data-end=\"2578\">Brazil is only the beginning.
